A classic english estate on the mendocino coast situated on 20 acres, inspired by tradtional half timbered architecture built through out England. This one-of-a-kind home was originally commissioned by world-renowned seascape artist E. John Robinson (1932-2008), created over 4,000 breathtaking ocean paintings and was featured on four Reader's Digest covers. Inspired by the English countryside, he designed this traditional half-timbered cottage as his coastal retreat: a space of reflection, creativity, and natural beauty. The home and gardens were also featured in home & garden and country gardens magazine.

Today, the home has been thoughtfully re-imagined by its current owner Jack Vosney (also an artist). With the thought and care to stay true to the tradtional architecture keeping all the hand hewn beams and tounge and groove celings. He added many new details. All new fixtures throught the home, resawn yellow pine flooring imported from Georgia, tradtional english stlye master bathroom with floor to celing wainscotting and claw foot tub and marble bathrooms through out the rest of the home. Both kitchens were designed and built by the current owner, special touches can been seen in the walnut cabintry and island in the main kitchen. The intertior decoracting ( modern country meets classic english cottage ) was thoughtly put toghther to bring a warm cozy feeling of loved home, a space that pulls you in and relaxes the body and mind.

The Lichen Manor comfortably sleeps 16 people. Between the main home, cottage and studio there are 6 beautiful bedrooms, all with varrying views of the eatate and surrounding pygmy forrest. 

The main house has 3 full bathrooms, The master bedroom in the main home has a king bed, is light airy with goregues hand hewn vaulted ceilings and looks over the english gardens with its own private access. The master bath is quitsential english design, with floor to celing wainacotting and claw foot tub looking out at the gardens for serine soaks. The 3 other bedrooms in the main home have queen beds, one if which is a queen sofa bed. The main house features 3 beautifully designed bathrooms, featuring marble and wainscotting adorned with timless lighting fixtures. 

The 2 story cottage overlooks the historic barn and pygmy forrest and has its own garden. It sleeps 4, the upstairs master bedroom has a king bed and the downstairs living room has a pullout couch queen size bed, and features 1 open spacious bathroom. The cotttage also has its own full size amentie filled kitchen.

The studio features a queen size bed in the bedroom and in the living room a queen size fold-out mattress.
